Mark Tatelman

President

Mark Tatelman is a 4th generation owner at Merrimack Valley Distributing Company. He graduated from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia with a dual concentration in Finance and Accounting.

Upon graduation Mark went to work for the Boston Beer Company in regional sales in Washington DC. After his tenure at Samuel Adams, Mark returned to his roots, joining the family business as a Retail Account Specialist. He continued to gain experience at the company and was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2013.

As of January 1st, 2020 Mark holds the position of President overseeing all departments of Merrimack Valley Distributing. He works closely with both his father Richard and uncle Jack to make sure MVDC remains true to its mission of being the best sales and marketing distributor in the alcoholic beverage industry measured by sales, distribution and retail execution.

Richard Tatelman

Treasurer

As a third generation co-owner of the company, Richard has more than 30 years of beer and beverage experience in the industry. Having taken the position of President in 1992 after Herb Tatelman's retirement, Richard now serves as Treasurer.

Richard also holds the following positions:

• Attorney and member of Massachusetts Bar Association since 1974
• Past President of Massachusetts Beer Wholesalers Association
• An original founding member of KEG 1 and currently a partner in Keg 1 LLC‘s Texas operations
• Served on NBWA Board of Directors for the State of Massachusetts
• Board of Directors of MBA (Mass Beverage Alliance)

Richard resides with his wife Dorothy. They have three children: two daughters and son Mark who is MVDC's current President.

Jack Tatelman

Senior Vice President

Acting in the role of Managing Partner and co-owner of Merrimack Valley Distributing Company, Inc., Jack Tatelman has helped lead the company for more than 30 years to become a dominant player in the sales of malt beverage products in the Essex and Greater Middlesex counties of Massachusetts.

Graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 1978 where he received an undergraduate's degree in Business and Communications, Jack entered the business first as a Merchandising/Promotional Manager, later overseeing the sales division along with the Director of Sales and Marketing.

Michael Walsh

Director of Sales and Marketing

Michael joined Merrimack Valley in November of 1988. In his 30-plus years at MVDC Michael rose through the ranks, holding six different positions in the Sales & Marketing department. Before being promoted to Director in January 2019, he excelled as Area Sales Manager, having held that position since 2001. In overseeing the sales team Michael believes in everyday retail execution with distribution, sales and merchandising of MVDC products supported by superior customer service.

Mike resides in Haverhill, Massachusetts with his wife Julie. He has three children and one grandchild.

Frank Vegan

Controller

After earning his BBA in Accounting from UMASS Amherst, Frank worked for 30 years in the paper recycling industry. He began as the Northeast Regional Controller, a position he held for 22 years, and was then promoted to Divisional Controller where he remained for 8 years. During his tenure with the company he earned an MBA from Suffolk University with a concentration in finance.

Over the next four years Frank operated a consulting business providing accounting services to a variety of clients. In 2019 he joined Merrimack Valley Distributing Company as the company's Controller. He oversees the financial operations of the company while also being responsible for the administrative functions of our Human Resources, Customer Service, and Information Technology departments.

Currently Frank resides in Wilmington with his wife Eileen.

Ben Bush

Operations Manager

Ben has been with Merrimack Valley Distributing Company, Inc. since 2008, holding essential positions in our warehouse and in Operations. He was promoted to Director of Operations in early 2019 with responsibility for day-to-day operation of the company, purchasing, and union issues as well as contract negotiations and arbitrations.

Ben received his BS from Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH with a degree in Biology and a concentration in Exercise Science and a minor in Chemistry. He then earned a MS in Exercise Science from Barry University in Miami, FL. After college he spent five seasons working as a Strength and Conditioning Coach in Major League Baseball, staying three years with the Colorado Rockies and two years with the San Francisco Giants.

Ben resides in New Boston, NH with his wife Karen. In their free time they enjoy sporting events, traveling, and activities with their nieces and nephews.
